Welcome to the City Council page! Council President Gene Neumann Councilmember Delray Platt I was born on 22 May, 1940 in Cedar City, Utah.  I lived there until I was 11 years old.  In 1951 I moved with my family to a farm in New Plymouth, Idaho and lived there until I graduated from high school.  I attended Brigham Young University for 2 years and then spent 2 years on a mission for the LDS Church in New Zealand.  After my mission I returned to BYU and met the love of my life, Susan Nielson.  We were married for 52 years until her death in 2019. After college I spent 2 years teaching school in Burns, Oregon.  In 1967 we moved to Cambridge, Idaho and have lived there since then.  I have taught school since then until my retirement in the year 2000.  I taught history, government, geography, and drivers education.  We raised five children during those years.  The first one, a son, was born in Burns, another son, then three girls born while we lived in Cambridge.  All 5 children attended all their schooling in Cambridge.  I still teach drivers education and give skills tests for drivers licenses.
